POOL 12 - WORKSHOP - Max / Msp / Jitter:

Max/Msp/Jitter is a graphical programming software extensively used in performances and audio/visual art fields.

3h presentation, in english (french translation possible).

In such a short time I won't make you an expert on the question, but the aim is to give each participant an idea of the possibilities as well as some understanding of "What is easy to do ?", "What is doable ?" and "What is (really) hard to do ?"

No computer and no previous experience needed.

We will just remove some question marks you might have about live video, interaction and using video in a performance

Presentation is in English language.

POOL 12 - WORKSHOP - Corpus Pygmalion
with Chris Ziegler (ZKM Karlsruhe)

The workshop will follow Ovid Pygmalion‘s path of hybrid transgression. In Chris Ziegler‘s new production „corpus pygmalion“ he developed an „electronic leotard“, where the dancer‘s movements create sound and light. There are several ways to use the technology - as multi angle camera and interactive costume. The dancers in the workshop are requested to look at themselves from various angles, every single move has an effect on the sound and light that surrounds them.“

POOL 12 - WORKSHOP - Chroma-key: Learn how to fly!
a workshop on greenscreen and how you can dance in zero gravity - conducted by post theater (Yoann Trellu / Hiroko Tanahashi)

One of the oldest tricks in video- and film-making is blue-box or green-screen: you can separate a person from his / her surroundings and seemingly make this person fly. For dance the implication is: you can move without the actual space. How to create great dance-films or videos for life projections with this trick is the core of this intensive hands-on workshop which is open for dancers, choreographers, performers and other artists.

post theater has created various performances using this technique and is happy to share their experience with the participants. Workshop is in English language (German, French and Japanese translations possible upon request). More about the workshop conductors: www.posttheater.com, www.keyframed.org

13./14. September, 10 - 16:00 Uhr (plus presentation time on Friday).

POOL 12 - WORKSHOP - Video: format / conversion / upload
a workshop that teaches how to use video for social media, internet, DVD etc. - conducted by Yoann Trellu

Now that most of us have a video camera in our pocket and a youtube or Facebook account, questions / problems about video conversion and upload are more and more frequent.
This workshop will give you a better understanding of the most common video formats, and give you the tools to switch between them. Workshop in english (+french possible), for mac and pc.
How do I put this dvd on Youtube ?
Why can't I play this video ? Can I burn a dvd with this video ?
What is .mov .avi .mp4… ? Do I need to care about that ? Which one is better ?
If you ever asked yourself these kind of questions, this workshop is for you !
No previous knowledge about video or computer is required. Beginners welcome !
It is not necessary to bring your computer, but it is of course strongly recommended.
